Inframammary fold asymmetry & breast augmentation

The crease or inframammary fold under the breasts can be located at different heights on a woman considering breast implants. This is actually a very common finding during the preoperative breast augmentation examination. This type of breast asymmetry can result in the breast implants settling at different positions on the chest. Most often this is a subtle difference but occasionally it may more noticeable. In clothes, it is seldom a problem. It is very important to notice the breast fold position before breast augmentation so that a realistic expectation can be established. Sometimes, these inframmary fold asymmetries are mild and other may be quite significant.
