Step 1. The Initial Consultation
Prior to scheduling a breast enhancement or augmentation surgery, Virginia plastic surgeon, Dr. Michael J. Brown will examine you and review your history to determine whether you are a good candidate for the procedure. Your initial breast augmentation consultation can be initiated in one of two ways:
a.
Virtual Consultation and Exam
You may start the process by using the internet. Request a virtual consultation from Dr. Michael J. Brown’s office online. You will be instructed on how to submit your preliminary photos for an initial assessment. You will then be e-mailed a letter outlining the next steps. If you have realistic expectations and are a breast augmentation candidate you may schedule your breast implant surgery. It's that simple. Of course you will have to be evaluated personally by Dr. Brown.
b.
Personal Consultation and Exam
Visit us at Dr. Michael J. Brown’s Virginia/Washington DC/Maryland location for a personal examination and consultation with the doctor. Eventually all patients will end up here for the final examination and recommendations for the breast enhancement surgery.
Step 2. Scheduling Your Breast Enhancement Plastic Surgery Procedure
a.
Setting a surgery appointment and payment method
The Patient Coordinator will work with you to choose a time for the procedure. A deposit payable by check or major credit card is required to secure your surgery appointment, while the balance is due two weeks before the preoperative visit. At this time, we will also direct you to download surgical consent forms and other information for you to review prior to your preoperative plastic surgery appointment.
b.
The day before your plastic surgery
This visit will be spent preparing you for surgery. You will receive a physical examination and we will discuss pre- and post-operative instructions, as well as review and sign your consent forms. You may also be marked for your plastic surgical breast enhancement procedure.
c.
The day of your plastic surgery
Do not eat or drink anything after midnight. Your breast enhancement or augmentation will be performed at a certified operating facility located at a major hospital or outpatient facility.
Step 3. The Road to Recovery
During your 3 to 5-day stay, you will need to carefully follow all of Dr. Michael J. Brown’s post-operative guidelines to ensure optimal recovery. We will routinely assess your progress, incorporating your post-op visits into this required length of stay. Virginia plastic surgeon Dr. Michael J. Brown’s goal is to ensure that you return home rested and thoroughly satisfied with your surgery results. Once you have returned home, we can also recommend a local physician for follow-up visits if you like. Usually there is not much follow up required. This depends on the type of plastic surgery that you may have had.
We welcome guests from any locale. Whether you will be traveling alone for surgery or bringing family members, Dr. Michael J. Brown’s office can assist you to secure the travel and accommodations you need for a comfortable, successful stay.
